Rekha has over 25 years’ experience as a writer and editor across two geographies – India and the Middle East. Her work as a journalist has encompassed diverse domains– business, information technology, entertainment, and lifestyle/features for newspapers and magazines. For the past 16 years, her focus has been on the intersection of gender and impact, in which she spent nine years as editor of two women’s magazines in Muscat, Oman.
After she returned to India in 2017, she joined YourStory as an Associate Editor. Currently, she leads HerStory and SocialStory – YourStory’s gender and social impact verticals. Rekha reports and writes on women’s entrepreneurship, social impact and change, and mental health. Passionate about the role of women in the workforce, she has led women’s events in YourStory and has participated in panel discussions and talks on gender at various events.
